What do our stakeholders think of us?

The school receives consistently positive feedback from its stakeholders.

Troup consults with its customers on a regular basis: through phone contact, review meetings and during informal meetings. The school council and key team meetings ensure that young people have a formal route to air their views.

Young people also have access to Children’s Rights officers and their independent advocate. In addition, the school uses formal questionnaires to allow their customers to say what they think about the school.

One mum from Highland Local Authority can’t believe the difference in her son. She says he now treats her with respect and accepts her boundaries. She says she would recommend Troup to other parents who have challenging children.

A representative from Moray Council described Troup House as an excellent placement which had supported his client beyond expectations.

Another social worker from Renfrewshire believes Troup has significantly improved the life chances of his young person.

One resident says: ‘The most amazing thing I’ve done is sail round the UK. I can’t believe I did it! I know my behaviour has improved and I can now control my emotions, nearly all of the time. I want to stay here until I am 18 and learn enough to be able to go to sea!’
